CHEF Rosalia (Lia) Buggemi is a first generation Sicilian chef. Born in Sicily, she was always enamored by watching her grandmother make homemade pasta in the kitchen, specifically her famous canoli.
Lias main objective was to replica her home kitchen in the restored heritage house @ 582 Church Street.
A trait that certainly gives Sugo a personal touch.
Chef Lia wants Torontonians (and visitors) to know what homemade pasta tastes like. It has a different texture and flavor that most people dont even know about.
As far as desserts go, Tiramisu, Tiramisu, Tiramisu! Dont get us wrong, the menu features a scrumptious classic Italian dessert list, but nothing is as delectable as Chef Lias Tiramisu. The eggless dessert remains authentic with the use of Marcella Sicilian wine.
The wine list focuses on Italian wines and alcohol from different Italian regions, and the cheeses will coincide with the Italian districts, nothing but fresh mozzarella for the variety of pizzas available.
